A Word from the RE

Wow, where did the time go, it’s already back to racing season for most of us. I’m excited to kick off a great 2018, and I hope you are too.

Two weeks ago, many of our board members and leaders attended the SCCA National Convention in Las Vegas. It was a jam-packed two and a half days filled with some very good information and exciting plans from our new President, Mike Cobb.

At our February board meeting, we will be making our 2018 goals for the Houston Region. Many of these goals are carried over from 2017, but many of these will be based on ideas overheard and conversations held at the National Convention. We always want you to be a part of the planning process as well, so please don’t hesitate to email us your thoughts and ideas. Our email addresses are available at the bottom of each newsletter. I plan on sharing our goals in our next newsletter.

We have some exciting events coming up with in our region and around the division. From the Road Racing COTA Hoosier Racing Tires SCCA Super Tour at Circuit of the Americas, to the season opening RallyCross at RallyReady, to the Regional Solo at Houston Police Academy, there’s something for everyone this weekend.

February 24th is a must attend for everyone. We will be doing a gimmick rally from MSR Houston to the Kemah Boardwalk before the Annual Awards Banquet at Landry’s Seafood. Winners of the road rally will get VIP parking and we’ll have a live band at the banquet! You don’t want to miss either one.

In March, Road Racing will travel to NOLA Motorsports Park for the Voodoo Le Cinq Hoosier Racing Tires SCCA Super Tour, and there will be another Regional Solo at Houston Police Academy. We hope you make plans to join us.

Links to register for all the events are located below on the upcoming events calendar. And don’t forget, when you’re at one of these events, be sure to tag us on Facebook, so we can see and share with others.

Hope to see you at an upcoming event!
