HouSCCA Solo

Solo is the SCCA brand name for autocross competition. Solo events are driving skill contests that emphasize the driver's ability and the car's handling characteristics. This is accomplished by driving a course that is designated by traffic cones on a low hazard location, such as a parking lot or inactive airstrip. While speeds are no greater than those normally encountered in legal highway driving,the combination of concentration and car feedback creates an adrenaline pumping experience. It is like being in a movie chase scene, only you are holding onto the steering wheel instead of a box of popcorn! Click here to see a video.

2008 Championship Runoffs

It's time once again for the Solo II Regional Series Championship Runoffs. The event will take place at Gulf Greyhound Park on Saturday January 3rd. For more information, see the Special Events page.

Annual Tech 2009

The Solo annual tech schedule for 2009 has been set. Please download the Solo annual tech packet for ALL the information. Pre-registration is mandatory through annualtech@earthlink.net. Steve Pounds is the tech chief and can answer any questions that you may have.

Tech days are as follows:

• Saturday, December 13
• Saturday, December 20
• Saturday, January 3

Worker of the Month

The 09/07/2008 SCCA Solo Worker of the month is Preston  Temple.

Preston can almost always be found at clean up with about 100 cones packed into the back of his VW Rabbit. He's a really hard worker and we appreciate his efforts.

For the extra effort, Preston gets a free entry to the next Regional event. Thank you Preston for all of your hard work.
