Welcome to the Houston Region Autocross Program

Autocross events are driving skill contests that emphasize the driver’s ability and the car’s handling characteristics. This is accomplished by driving a course that is designated by traffic cones on a low hazard location, such as a parking lot or inactive airstrip. While speeds are no greater than those normally encountered in legal highway driving,the combination of concentration and car feedback creates an adrenaline pumping experience. It is like being in a movie chase scene, only you are holding onto the steering wheel instead of a box of popcorn!

SCCA Members online $35.00
SCCA Members on Site $45.00

Evolution Performance Driving School

Houston will be hosting an Evolution Performance Driving School Phase 1 at the Houston Police Academy on Saturday, November 10th. We cannot recommend this school enough for all members, whether you are new to the sport or have been competing for multiple years. For more information and registration, see the link below. The school is limited to 30 spots so get signed up today!

Autocross Committee Elections

The time is approaching to select Autocross Committee members for the 2019 season.  The following positions need to be filled:

Chief of Rookies
Chief of Tech
Chief of Workers

The occupants of the remaining positions have expressed their intent to continue in their current roles:

Chief of Waivers
Chief of Equipment
Chief of Timing
Chief of Registration
Secretary
Treasurer
Chief of Web
Chief of Safety

Whether a position is vacant or not, you are welcome to volunteer yourself or nominate someone else to fill that position.  The descriptions of the responsibilities for each committee position are available in the Operations Manual:
