Road Racing is the backbone of the SCCA, with more than 300 high-speed racing events annually and three levels of events.

Time Trials

The Time Trials program is designed to accommodate all types of cars – from street cars in the first-level, instructional Performance Driving Experience events to fully-prepared race vehicles.

Time Trial levels include:

PDX: Designed for those who have never sat behind the wheel while on a track, PDX provides instruction in both the classroom and on the track.

Club Trials: Club Trials builds on the instruction you received in the PDX while allowing drivers their first chance at competing against time.

Track Trials: The tier-three program offers closed-course track time, with competitions again decided by fastest time around the course.

All of us have done the burn-out at a red light, or taken that curve at more than the “suggested speed,” imagining ourselves as racers while never leaving our street cars. With Performance Driving Experience (PDX) events, you don’t have to dream anymore!

PDX provides an instructional environment for drivers who simply want to improve their driving skills and increase their enjoyment of driving their street vehicle. True to the “run what ya brung” adage, all it takes to be a part is your street car, a valid license and a helmet.  Plenty of seat time, plenty of individual instruction, and a ton of driving exercises make up a PDX. All of this is designed to educate you and make you more confident behind the wheel, both on the track and on the street.

For the local racer, regional racing provides the opportunity to race wheel-to-wheel with the area’s best without traveling across the country. Full of friendly competition, these events are a great place to discover road racing and get started in the sport.

The U.S. Majors Tour is the pinnacle of amateur championship racing in North America – where America’s best drivers race.  It means start-to-finish, wheel-to-wheel action. It’s where drivers not only put their cars on the track, they put their pride on the line.
